As an artist, I am fascinated by the emotional response to color and naturally occurring patterns. Various colors or combinations of colors posses the power to evoke and alter our moods and even promote productivity. In my work, I merge these influential aspects of color theory with organic patterns found in nature. In conjunction with natural phenomena like wood grain, marble and smoke, I find inspiration in the designs and shapes of southwestern style pottery. I strive for my glass works to be both aesthetically appealing and emotionally provoking while maintaining functionality. I utilize colors containing various metals and interweave them together to create new colors. No two reactions are identical and I welcome this element of surprise as an integral part of the creative process of each piece.
